What you`ll do
Summary: The team provides Platform as a Service and embedded Core Services for Cloud Foundry (CF) Runtime of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). Developing, deploying and maintaining the corresponding services running in a cloud environment are core responsibilities of the team. The team believes and practices agile development methods, pair programming, Software Craftmanship, GitOps, Test-Driven-Development and works in an environment with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Monitoring and Observability are other core DevOps practices focused by the team.
The Role: In this role, you will contribute to open source projects of the Cloud Foundry Foundation and ensure that BTP Cloud Foundry Platform is running reliable and stable. Being part of a highly motivated agile and self-managed team with collective code ownership, you will care for code from your local machine to productive systems. You will learn and apply new concepts, processes, and modern open-source technologies. The daily tasks will imply close collaboration with teams all over the world within the company and the Cloud Foundry community. Bring in your TDD experience and your passion for automating everything.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
- Proficient software development experience in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Golang, Java) as well as test frameworks (e.g. Ginkgo, Py-/Unittest) and continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins, Concourse)
- Familiar with agile methods, test-driven development, continuous integration and pair programming
- Experience in developing Cloud Services topics
- Background in Linux (BASH), Networking (HTTP, DNS, TCP, OSI) and Databases (SQL)
- Preferably cloud development or distributed systems experience and Cloud Platforms (e.g. SAP BTP, AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud)
- Very good English language skills (verbal and written), German skills are a plus
